A warm welcome to students from Sudan
نرØب ترØيباً Øاراً بالطلاب الدوليين من السودان!
The °®ÍþÄÌapp of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a global leader in public health and infectious disease research. With students from over 190 countries, we are proud to have a vibrant community of Sudanese students who contribute to our academic excellence and global perspective. This page provides specific information for applicants from Sudan, including entry requirements, programmes on offer, and support available to help you thrive at LSHTM.
LSHTM and partners in Sudan work together to generate evidence on health systems in crisis settings. The Sudan Research Group brings together academics, humanitarian workers and local volunteers to study the health impacts of conflict and displacement. Through the Afya Consortium, LSHTM leads multi-country studies - including in Sudan on epidemics and sexual and reproductive health in humanitarian contexts.
In 2024, LSHTM researchers published the first empirical estimate of war-related mortality in Khartoum, documenting over 61,000 excess deaths between April 2023 and June 2024. The findings have informed global understanding of the health consequences of the conflict in Sudan.
By joining LSHTM, students from Sudan can help ensure that research shaped by conflict-affected communities is part of the global public health conversation.
