The °®ÍþÄÌapp of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a global leader in public health and infectious disease research. With students from over 190 countries, we are proud to have a vibrant community of Hong Kong students who contribute to our academic excellence and global perspective. This page provides specific information for applicants from Hong Kong, including entry requirements, programmes on offer, and support available to help you thrive at LSHTM.

LSHTM has a strong academic connection with Hong Kong, particularly through its partnership with the University of Hong Kong which has been in place since 2013. This collaboration has fostered joint research and education in key areas like infectious disease control, epidemiology, and health policy. As part of this partnership, LSHTM and HKU jointly offer a short course in Vaccinology, providing students with specialised training in vaccine development, policy, and implementation. The two institutions also collaborate on research into vaccine confidence, addressing critical public health challenges in the region.

Students from Hong Kong gain valuable opportunities, including access to LSHTM¡¯s global health networks and dedicated scholarships. Alumni like Dr Emily Chan demonstrate how LSHTM¡¯s training equips leaders to tackle health challenges in Hong Kong and the wider region. Dr Chan serves as Professor and Assistant Dean of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also the Director of the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response and the Centre for Global Health. Her work focuses on public health, disaster and humanitarian medicine, and global health initiatives.

Be part of LSHTM¡¯s academic community and contribute to building a healthier future for Hong Kong and beyond.
