Research Fellow

United Kingdom

I am a sociologist specialising in the sociology of organisations and economic sociology. I am interested in the political economy of health and care services provision. I am a member of the . I research the allocation of resources, including funding, purchasing, procuring and provider payment mechanisms, and sociolegal aspects of health systems such as governance, regulation, and accountability in the context of the English NHS.

As part of NIHR PRU in HSSC, I have been involved in several research projects exploring various organisational aspects of the English NHS, such as an interplay between provider competition and cooperation in planning local health services and implementation of the new architecture of system management established by the Health and Care Act 2022. Currently, I am involved in two projects - on the development of provider collaboratives and on the application of the Provider Selection Regime regulations by the Integrated Care Boards.
