Educational/professional background

I am a medical student studying the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Programme at the University of Hong Kong. I am currently intercalating at LSHTM for 1 year to complete my MSc Public Health for Eye Care before I resume clinical years in the upcoming academic year to train to be a doctor.

Research interests or career goals

I am interested in how public health plays an important role in the structure and delivery of healthcare. As a doctor in training, I wanted to have exposure in the different aspects of medicine and learns the ins and outs of how healthcare is developed and delivered in order to pioneer possible improvements in where I might work in the future.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I have previously did a clinical attachment at the Department of Ophthalmology and found that to be quite interesting and there are also a lot of issues raised in my local community requiring more immediate eye services. I chose this programme to understand other ways of helping a patient outside of a clinical setting.
