My works focuses on the way data science can inform design and analysis of laboratory work. My current project is development and validation of PCR amplicon panel for environmental surveillance of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi. Prior to this, I have investigated biomarkers of hypervirulence in Klebsiella pneumoniae and the relationship between this bacteria's carbapenemase resistance and hypervirulence phenotypes. In parallel, I have also continued my MSc work on Aedes mosquitoes investigating the origin chromosomally integrated DNA from non-retroviral RNA viruses and also creating a catalogue of possible resistance mutations in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

In addition to this work, I am pursuing other projects including AI assisted development of novel anti-TB drugs and application of amplicons in understanding of UK tick-borne infections and management of plant pests.
