Luisa Pettigrew is a General Practitioner and Honorary Research Fellow in the department of Health Services Research and Policy at LSHTM. She is also currently working with the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health's IDED team on an NIHR funded Winter Pressures project and as a Senior Policy Fellow for Primary Care at The Health Foundaiton. Luisa has been a GP since 2008, and holds a Master degree in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing. She has worked on research and policy projects relating to global health and medical education, health systems financing, organisational models of general practice, healthcare professional behaviour change, and the development of family medicine internationally with organisations including the World Health Organisation, World Organisation of Family Doctors, Royal College of General Practitioners, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Nuffield Trust. She has been an editorial board member for the journal Education for Primary Care and member of NICE guidelines update committees. Her doctoral project focused on the role of inspections in general practice and their impact on quality. She has been seminar leader for the Issues in Public Health module, tutor for HPPF MSc students and co-leads LSTHM's Primary Health Care group.
