Dr. Esin Nkereuwem is a Clinical Research Fellow in the Vaccines and Immunity Theme at the MRC Unit The Gambia at the °®ÍþÄÌapp of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). His research focuses on improving the diagnosis, management, and long-term outcomes of childhood tuberculosis (TB) and other respiratory diseases in low-resource settings. His doctoral work centred on identifying and quantifying the multidimensional sequelae of pulmonary TB in children in The Gambia.

Dr. Nkereuwem earned his medical degree from the University of Calabar, Nigeria, and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Paediatrics, West African College of Physicians. He completed a Master’s in Public Health for Development at LSHTM as a Chevening Scholar. He earned a PhD from LSHTM, where his research focused on the long-term impact of pulmonary TB in children. His PhD research was supported by a Career Development Fellowship (TMA2020CDF-3197) awarded by the EDCTP2 Programme and funded by the European Union.
