Albert Arnold Musinguzi is Head of Research Platforms at the MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit. He oversees the strategy and day-to-day management of five platforms : Clinical Research & Trials, General Population Cohort, Immunology, Sequencing, and the Clinical Diagnostics Laboratory & Biobank ensuring they give researchers consistent technical and logistical support. As a member of the Unit Management Committee he guides platform governance, risk management and cross-platform projects, working closely with Professional Services and LSHTM teams in Uganda, The Gambia and the UK.
Previously, Albert spent 17 years with large US DoD-funded and PEPFAR-supported health-research programmes, He led enterprise IT, biomedical-engineering and cyber-security across nationwide clinic-and-lab networks, delivered major infrastructure upgrades and built cross-disciplinary teams. Albert also sits on the boards of a regional One-Health conservation organisation and a waste-management company serving healthcare facilities, advising on technology, governance and sustainability.
