Her work integrates epidemiology, behavioural science, and implementation research, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. She has focused on improving the health of mothers and newborns with projects targeting infection prevention and control (IPC) in the healthcare environment, and more recently climate change adaptations. She holds a PhD and MSc in Epidemiology from LSHTM, and BA in Human Sciences from Oxford University.
She is a Guest Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. She has collaborated with several organisations including WHO WASH and IPC units, UNODC, OECD, Africa CDC, and WaterAid.
She is currently working on unpacking the mechanisms of social norms change across three randomised cluster trials funded by the RGHI global fellowship scheme.

Teaching
Dr Gon co-organises the MSc module “Basic Epidemiology” and contributes to teaching across several postgraduate programmes. She also plays a key role in research training and mentorship, supporting PhD students and early-career researchers.
