I am statistician and infectious disease epidemiologist. My research centres around the evaluation of vaccines and other public health interventions aimed at reducing the burden of infectious disease among children in low-and-middle-income countries. I am also interested in the development of statistical methods, particularly around the analysis of time series data for evaluating population-level interventions.

I collaborate with researchers at various institutions, including the MRC Gambia, the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kenya, and more recently, the Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI) in Zimbabwe.

Recently completed studies for which I was the principal statistician include:

• PregnAnZI-2: A trial evaluating the effectiveness of azithromycin, administered during labour, for preventing sepsis in newborns in The Gambia
• A trial of fractional doses of pneumococcal vaccines in Kenya

Ongoing studies for which I am the principal statistician include:

• IMPRESS: a cluster-randomised trial of a hospital management intervention in Malawi
• FIEBRE: a multi-country study investigating the causes of fever in children and adults
• SAVIS: a phase 1 trial of a vaccine against non-typhoidal Salmonella
• An evaluation of RajPusht - a complex intervention centred around a cash transfer programme for pregnant women in Rajasthan, India
