I am a Research Fellow (Education) with a focus on the bespoke Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance training, a professional short course for teams from the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory and governmental bodies, and other academic institutions in the UK and abroad. My research is within pharmacoepidemiology and drug utilisation.
My last role within LSHTM was in the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Immunisation under Theme 1 (Making the most of real-world data). Theme 1 aims to increase vaccine coverage and support a data-driven immunisation programme by making the most of digital technologies and linked electronic health records. In collaboration with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), I used CPRD data to improve vaccine coverage.
I was previously a Statistician in the Women's Health Research Unit at Queen Mary University of London, with work including a pragmatic, multi-centre, three-arm randomised controlled trial on the use of time-lapse imaging in in-vitro fertilisation treatment, and large data studies on the association between low birthweight centiles and both maternal and childhood outcomes. I completed my PhD at the University of Bath (SAMBa CDT) investigating a possible causal impact of Systemic Sclerosis on cancer, with an emphasis on prevalent cohorts.
